Print at 100% / “Actual size”. Turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit” in the print dialog, or the labels won’t line up and the barcode may shrink.
- Print it on plain paper, put it on top of a label sheet and hold both up to a window. Or print it straight onto a spare label sheet.
- Check the ruler first. If it isn’t exactly 100 mm (4 in), fix the scaling before you measure anything.
Partly used sheet? You don’t need a new test: choose a start position in the generator and printing starts at the first empty label.

Save it as a printer profile
Profiles are saved in this browser only, with no account. When you make a PDF on Avery 5163 with the generator, the bulk generator or My labels, the most recently saved profile for that label stock is applied automatically. It is shown before you download, where you can pick another profile or turn it off. Image downloads (PNG, SVG) are never shifted, and old jobs keep the shift they were printed with. The adjustment moves labels; it never shrinks or stretches the barcode. Shifts up to ½ in (12.7 mm) are accepted.
